Thank you for sharing the lives of these boys. It is such a sad way to live, and my heart hurts for these little children. I will continue to pray for them, and the people working with them.

I have had the opportunity to travel to Senegal twice and see, first hand, these precious Talibe’ boys. They sure are tough boys, ranging in age from 4 to 17 or 18, and are grateful for any kindness they are shown. My group gives them peanuts and a piece of candy (not money because it has to be turned over to the Maribou), but often they sell the food they receive in order to turn in their daily quota of money. There is a Talibe’ center that is run by a women from a church in Canada where they can come for a shower, nutritious meal and minimal health treatment. She will take them to a local hospital for severe ailments. Pray for these boys. They are precious and just need to know that someone loves them and cares about them.
